I made this for the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge is about ornaments, but seeing as I got rid of my big tree and ornaments the last thing I wanted was another ornament. So I did a Christmas Decoration instead. I have had this Basic Grey paper since 2008 - clearly time to use it. I painted the sled with white acrylic paint, then attached the bottom layer of paper and just ran my crafting knife around the edge to get the detail in the paper. I fussy cut the dove, leaves and branches and outlined the doves wing with a glitter marker, and arranged to show off the dove. I added just red sequins, a crystal for the eye and some pearls in the sequins, the Peace cut out and red fibre for the hanger. Thanks for having a peek.

At Splitcoaststampers the Inspiration Challenge is about our forgotten favourites. I have so many it is hard to keep track. One who always inspires me is Loll Thompson from happylittlestampers. She does the most wonderful backgrounds ever. So I concentrated on my background for this birthday card for a friend whose birthday is in December. She keeps my cards up for a long time, so I wanted to make sure it would look nice through Christmas too, and no, not to worry, she does not follow my blog. I did the background using Viva Decor Inks. As I have mentioned before, they are like a wax, and the outcome is always wonderful. I mixed the Steelblue, Jade and Platinum colours together on my craft sheet keeping them dry and used used a sea sponge to apply to the mixed media paper, which I had spritzed slightly with water to help the wax move around easily. I stenciled using the Platinum then used the Jade and Steelblue for the Bird, which is styled and on foam dots, and used the Platinum for the sentiment. I added some pearls to dot the "i" and a crystal gem for the birds eye. I also added some larger Prima Crystals. The framing is done using the Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basic Dies. Thanks for having a peek.

I think this would be my favourite card made for Frantic Stamper, which is why I left it for last. I love to style flowers for my cards, which is what I did with these Bleeding Hearts. I coloured the flowers using Chameleon Markers and used my white jelly pen to highlight. I added a few more of the Bleeding Heart flowers at the top - say what, no sequins! But I did add some crystal gems to the flower tips and scattered around the card. The background embossing folder is called from Elizabeth Crafts Design and is called Swirly Curves. I cut the white scallop circle using Spellbinders Big Scallop Circles Small and embossed using the swirly curves folder again. This set again has many uses, whether it be Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or a Birthday. I hope you like it and thanks for having a look.
I had a friend in mind when I made this card. I think she will get a kick out of it. I used the Valentine Confetti Set again, so fun! The background stamp is Simon Says Stamp Drawn Hearts which I inked using Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and spritzed with water before stamping. The embossing folder is Crafts Too Love Hearts which I sponged with the same ink. The oval dies are from Spellbinders Ovals Small collection. A couple of pearls to finish. Thanks for looking.
Another card for Frantic Stamper, this time using Linked Hearts Border and the Valentine Confetti set. I hung the luv from the heart border and attached the hugs sentiment over the heart. Added some sequins and pearls, and used Tattered Lace Trellis Embossing Folder. I also posted previously a Thank you card that I made using the Hearts Border. I can see many uses for these dies. Thanks for having a peek.
I think I have mentioned before that I am on the Design Team for the Clean and Simple Challenges at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge today is Winter/Holiday Critters. This image is From The Heart Stamps called No Snow Birdbrain which I coloured using Chameleon Markers. To highlight the snow mounds I added some stickles and of course sequins and gems to finish. I embossed using Sizzix Snow Dots Embossing Folder. Thanks for having a peek.

This card I made following a sketch from Splitcoaststampers and it is my final card for Caring Hearts. The paper I bought several years ago, it is from Bo-Bunny called The Seasonal Carol. I cut it so the word Christmas would be just above my flower, which I sponged with picked raspberry ink. The leaves for the flower I did with Chameleon Markers, as they had the closest colour to the green I wanted. Stamped the sentiment and added only 3 sequins and 1 crystal gem in the flower centre. I hope you enjoy, and thanks for having a look.

I did this for the colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers which was to use Wild Cherry Sky colours on our cards. I embossed my card base to give some texture and coloured my image with Chameleon Markers and added a few sequins, crystals and pearls. I like the results The Ivy image is a digital from Power Poppy that has 3 of the Ivy plants running in a row. I changed it in Photoshop to suit my card design. Thanks for having a peek ...

I did this for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers as part of the Design Team. The challenge is to use leaves. I have had these vellum leaves for years, but they are stickers and I am not fussed about stickers. So I applied scotch tape to the back, covering the "stick", trimmed and styled the leaves, then mounted on foam dots to the circle embossed die. Added some glitter marker around the circle and along the edge of the card. Stamped the sentiment and attached some sequins, crystals and pearls. Thanks for having a peek.

I made this for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today which was a visit to a Pinterest Board called Christmas Creations. I picked this as my inspiration piece. I stenciled using non-traditional Christmas colours and added the frame by sponging the darker Festive Berries on cardstock. I added some scoring around the stencil and the sentiment. I need a MISTI, my sentiment is crooked (grrr!) Added crystals, sequins and pearls. Thanks for looking ...

I have had this stamp set for awhile and I have only inked up the reindeer from the set. There are three different Santa's, all so fun. I coloured the Santa and present with Chameleon Markers and cut them both out with Spellbinders Scallop dies. I added Stickles to Santa's Hat, some snowflakes, sequins, gems and pearls. The sentiment is heat embossed with TH Distress Inks Salty Ocean and clear embossing powder on vellum, and the present is on foam dots. The placement of sequins and pearls is what glued down the vellum. Thanks for looking ...

Another card for Caring Hearts using the sketch from splitcoaststampers. Another Christmas card to send to Caring Hearts. I embossed the background with the Crafter's Companion Embossalicious Embossing Folder which I used on Noel Stars below, but this time I included Santa and his Reindeer. The glitter tree is cut from American Crafts Glitter paper which I really like as the glitter stays put, and is attached on foam dots. I made some snow drifts and sponged some ink along the edges as well as stamping my sentiment inside the bank of the snow. A few sequins to finish. Very simple and easy to mail. Thanks for looking.

While making Noel Stars below I was thinking about this card as well. I like to get many uses out of my dies, and this is an example of that. I want to put a thank you card in the box that I send to Caring Hearts for Caroline Bredeson who is handling the Canadian East cards for the card drive. These ladies are donating the postage for this, which in Canada is expensive. And, as I was so excited about the Martha Stewart Glitter Markers working I used them again. I coloured the Linked Hearts Border and a few of the solid hearts from that die, along with the Valentine Confetti with the red marker and attached to my embossed background with glossy accents. I die cut the Thanks sentiment in the white cardstock and attached over the hearts, which I had styled to give them dimension. And, as this is at and for the Christmas Season, I added some snowflakes and to the centres I attached a couple of hearts from the Linked Hearts Border, which were also coloured using the red marker, and for the top snowflake I coloured a star for the centre. I think Caroline will like this. Thanks for having a look ...

Another card to send to Caring Hearts. I really like this card, it is simple but I think very pretty at the same time. I knew when I started that I wanted my Star Border going on a slant. Many years ago I bought some Martha Stewart Glitter Markers. I was very disappointed as they did not work, and I had bought all of them at $30.00 plus taxes. But, as a crafter it is rare for me to be rid of something that I might use. And, here we are today, I got them out and like magic, they all work! They just needed a few years rest. So, I went about colouring the negative of the stars with the silver marker, and added indigo to a few of the solid stars. I cut the Noel and coloured it with the indigo marker. I embossed the background with a 6x6 embossing folder that if used properly would have Santa and his reindeer, which I did not want on my card, I just wanted the stars, so I turned my paper sideways and embossed only the stars for my background. The stars are mounted on foam dots and typically me I finished with a few star sequins in silver and blue and a few gems. Thanks for having a peek.

This was a fun card to make. I stamped the little reindeer, then masked it over with masking fluid. I die cut the snowbank and stamped a bit of his hoofs on the bank and sponged ink along the edges of both snowbanks. I stamped the snowflakes using white embossing powder and sponged the ink on the panel. I added the glow to the reindeer's nose, (an idea I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog) then peeled away the masking fluid and coloured the reindeer with Chameleon Markers. I stamped the sentiment then attached all to the background, which I had embossed using my Sizzix Snow Dots embossing folder. Added some glitter pen to the centre of the snowflakes and a red gem to his nose to finish.

The challenge at Splitcoaststampers today is to use gold. I wanted to do this Poinsettia for Caring Hearts anyway, so today was the day. I heat embossed the poinsettia using gold embossing powder and then watercoloured loosely with Winsor Newton paints. I edged using my gold leafing pen and also coloured the sentiment. Added some sequins, pearls and gems and added dots in the centre with my gold glitter pen. Hope you like it, thanks for looking ...
I changed my mind, liking this so much I decided to keep it for a friend.

Getting ready for winter over at Splitcoaststampers with the Clean and Simple Challenge.
My friend Lesley from Vancouver sent me the most wonderful pair of red mittens from the Winter Olympic Games, and I decided to make my card in honour of Lesley and my warm red mittens, which I love to wear.
The sentiment is computer generated which I printed before embossing my background done using Crafter's Companion Vintage Snow Bells Embossing Folders. I made my mittens using the Memory Box Precious Mittens die, and cut from red felt, then adding pearls for the trim. A few sequins and a red gem to finish. Thanks for having a peek ...
This is done for the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers today, where we case one of her cards. I loved the idea of the ink across the card, and already had this Sheena Douglass Festive Evergreen Embossing folder out as I wanted to make a card using it. So perfect timing. I used Viva Decor Inka Gold Emerald Green ink across the card. I have been wanting to use it too! My sentiment is from Frantic Stamper, and I lined the sentiment with a cut in the metallic gold. Added some sequins and gems to finish. Thanks for having a peek ...
